Does your child love the library? Have they talked about becoming a librarian or a library volunteer when they're old enough?  Here at Almonte Library, if your child is between the ages of 8 - 13 years old, we are accepting applications to participate in our KID LIBRARIAN program from September 30th through October 14th. Once an application is chosen, the parent or guardian will be contacted by our professional librarian and asked to return to the library with the chosen Kid Librarian at an agreed upon time. With the professional librarian's guidance, the Kid Librarian will receive the necessary support to create Almonte's November book display for our children's area!
 
Applications can be found at Almonte's community table. Please submit to the front desk when complete.
 
SUBMISSION RULES AND GUIDELINES
 
  • Applications are open between September 30th-October 14th.
     
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 8-13 years old.
     
  • In order to be considered for the Kid Librarian program, applications must be fully completed with all sections answered.
 
  • Parents who are contacted by the librarian and receive confirmation that their child's application was accepted will have 5 days to respond and set up a suitable date/time with the librarian to bring the chosen Kid Librarian in, to work on the display.
     
  • If after 5 days, no date/time has been settled upon, the librarian will choose a new applicant. The child will still be able to submit another application in the future. 
     
  • The display must be completed by November 4th. If your child's application was selected, but you are unable to bring your child back to the library by November 4th to create the display, the librarian will choose a new applicant. The child will still be able to submit another application in the future.

If your child is chosen as our next Kid Librarian, expect to be contacted by end of business on October 16th.
