[synopsis] => Entrepreneurship is an old but living concept and its association with economic development is so closely linked that often it called as cause-effect relationship i.e. economic development is the effect for which entrepreneurship is the cause. Thus, since long Government has started promoting entrepreneurial activities by establishing several service providing institutions for conducting Entrepreneurship Development Programmes (EDPs). The major thrust of this initiative is to infuse the motivational input in the young minds of the country to embrace entrepreneurship as career by choice. But statistical figures reveal that the success rates of such EDPs are not at all satisfactory, which signifies that the basic objectives of EDPs to transform potential candidates into actual entrepreneurs have perhaps been defeated. Researchers have already attributed a number of factors to the causes of such failure of EDPs but there is hardly any study on the motivational efficiency of such EDPs. This book is the outcome of a critical study in Tripura on the motivational efficiency of EDPs to enquire whether such failure is attributable to the lack of motivational dynamics in EDPs. The book also highlights the present status of entrepreneurial activities in Tripura besides the theoretical status vs. execution status of motivational elements in the programme design of EDPs.
